Fernpark Neighbourhood Watch

We are a non-profitable organisation that operates as a registered Neighbourhood Watch in a portion of the Brackenfell area of Cape Town. We are affiliated with the Department of Community Safety as a Neighbourhood Watch and our affiliation number is 15/18/057.

Our area of responsibility includes the area within the boundaries of Paradys street, R300, William Dabbs drive and Frans Conradie drive.

Of the approximately 300 Neighbourhood Watches registered with the Department of Community Safety in Cape Town, we have won 3 awards in the last 2 years, with the awards having been awarded for:

2019	Broken Windows award	In recognition of exceptional efforts towards a clean, healthy and safe environment in which communities can lead dignified lives. Improving the physical appearance of an area by starting community clean-ups of litter, graffiti, pavement weeds etc.
2019	Organisational Excellence award	An award who shows excellence in NHW management, and helps to create a professional, capable and accountable NHW team. For example, administrative groups, radio control, records of minutes and agendas.
2020	Broken Windows award	In recognition of exceptional efforts towards a clean, healthy and safe environment in which communities can lead dignified lives. Improving the physical appearance of an area by starting community clean-ups of litter, graffiti, pavement weeds etc.

We work closely with both the Armed Response companies operating in our area, the South African Police Services (SAPS) and Law Enforcement in order to not only reduce crime in our area, but to proactively prevent crime through patrolling, monitoring and liaising with the relevant authorities.
